This story was proposed to be reported late to see if the media would make hype of this story — wait, why would they?

Buffalo Bills’ offensive line coach Aaron Kromer was arrested in Florida last Sunday for allegedly throwing a young boy to the ground, punching him, then threatening to kill his family if he went to the police.

Let’s stop the story for a second.

Kromer is a coach, who should be held to high standards just like the players. Though their faces aren’t the main focus on the screen on Sundays doesn’t mean they should be excused from any inappropriate behavior.

Aside from the racial double standard in the media, this man struck a minor. The way that the National Football League has handled past incidents of domestic violence is under major scrutiny, yet there’s no outcry about this white male adult assaulting a young boy.

After the Bills found out about the incident, here’s what was said to the media, “We are aware of the report and in the process of gathering the facts.”

Sound familiar? What other facts do you need? Facts to take what action? We can anticipate a suspension and maybe some anger management classes, not much of a severe punishment.

Let’s continue.

According to Kevin Patra from NFL.com, Kromer and his son, Zachary, got into an altercation with his neighbor’s son, a minor, in Inlet Beach, according to a Walton County Sheriff’s Office police report released Monday.

The police report explains that Kromer confronted three boys over using their beach chairs left by a beach access. Kromer allegedly grabbed their fishing pole and threw it into the water.

He then allegedly pushed one of the boys to the ground and punched him in the face before telling the boys to return the chairs.

The police report states that Kromer caused bodily harm to the victim’s left eye.

Kromer allegedly threatened to kill the victim’s family if he reported him to the police and returned to his residence. Zachary then tried to help the boys locate their fishing pole before also returning to his residence, according to the police report.

**EDITOR’S NOTE** In an unrelated story, Dr. Boyce Watkins discusses Bill O’ Reilly, and the double standards of domestic violence in regards to the racial aspects of this ongoing issue.
