In Baltimore yesterday seven police officers were arrested in a large corruption case that many have said to be disgraceful.

These seven officers are being charged in connection with a racketeering conspiracy and racketeering offenses, including robbing victims, filing false affidavits and making fraudulent overtime claims according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The officers, Det. Momodu Bondeva, 34, Det. Evodio Calles Hendrix, 32, Det. Daniel Thomas Hersl, 47, Sgt. Wayne Earl Jenkins, 36, Det. Jemell Lamar Rayam, 36, Det. Marcus Roosevelt Taylor, 30 and Det. Maurice Kilpatrick Ward, 36 all extorted up to $200,000 from victims, along with stealing guns and drugs, prosecutors said.

Last month, the city of Baltimore and the Justice Department agreed on a consent decree, which calls for police reforms. It has yet to be approved by a federal judge.

“This is not about aggressive policing, it is about a criminal conspiracy. Prosecuting criminals who work in police agencies is essential both to protect victims and to support the many honorable officers whose reputations they unfairly tarnish” said U.S. Attorney Rod J. Rosenstein.

Each face a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for conspiracy and for racketeering.

The majority of the incidents in question occurred while the Baltimore Police Department was facing a U.S. Justice Department civil rights investigation for the 2015 police-involved death of Freddie Gray that plunged the city into turmoil.

Marilyn J. Mosby, Baltimore State’s Attorney said the involvement of federal authorities “confirms the inherent difficulties with the BPD investigating itself,” and warned the indictment would have “pervasive implications on numerous active investigations and pending cases.”

When the shooting happened earlier this week, media reports put out deliberately false stories stating they did not know if the child was shot by police or his mother. Towards the end of the video below, Kodi Gaines specifically stated that the race soldiers posing as police deliberately shot him as he was running.

Sources say Gaines 5-year-old boy involved in the race soldier attack was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound. The child is expected to survive.

Police said earlier that the woman was armed and was with a child in her apartment. She was identified as Korryn Gaines, 23.

The suspected race soldiers posing as police claimed that Gaines threatened to shoot officers with a shotgun. But recent race soldier attacks have proven that suspected white supremacists will lie on a Melanoid citizen in order to justify attacking them.

Police have released few details of the incident, which happened in the unit block of Sulky Court. A news conference is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at police headquarters in Towson.

Who are the previously mentioned business owners, you might ask? First, let’s start with the business. Taharka Bros. is a Black-owned business that serves ice cream to Baltimore from a truck that is just as colorful as the personalities of the young Melanoid men who operate the business. Lead by one of the co-founders, Devon Brown, the company creates and sells ice cream with the premise of serving “as a vessel for the continuous flow of conversations in support of cultural understanding, economic and social justice, civic involvement, and actions of uplift for the powerless”, according tits mission statement on its website.

In summer of 2013, a short documentary was made to highlight the Taharka Brothers’ campaign to raise the capital to finance their company, via their Kickstarter page. Celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg, Shaquille O’Neal, and Russell Simmons either publicly endorsed their campaign, or they donated to finance it. You can view that film in the video below.

Perhaps greater than the fact that this group of young Melanoid men have worked collectively to make Taharka Bros. a great success throughout the Baltimore area, is the heartfelt significance of the company’s name. The dessert company received its name in honor of Taharka McCoy, a 25-year-old Melanoid man who served as a mentor to the youth in Baltimore. McCoy lost his life in 2002, after being gunned down. The staff of Taharka Bros. seek to erase the wrongs of not only systematic white supremacy in their local communty, but also society’s assumption that Black males–especially college aged Black males–indulge in counterproductive behavior.

Now that’s food for thought.

Mrs. Mosby’s decision to prosecute the officers marks an important step forward in ensuring justice for Freddie Gray, who was yet another victim of a white supremacist police force.

This particular time marks the third time that William Paul has experienced run-ins with law enforcement. His arraignment date is scheduled on May 12 in Fayette (Kentucky) District Court. The timing of this story couldn’t break at a more ironic time, because earlier this week, William’s father Rand stated that the ‘lack of fathers’ were the reason for the Baltimore uprisings that have taken place over the past several days.

While it’s obvious that there is no cause for us to immediately celebrate the Supreme Leader just because he made these tweets, these tweets are, however, reminders that the U.S.’s self-contrived image of being the moral police of the world is not convincing in the eyes of the rest of the world. Here in the States, many people–both white supremacists and non-white apologists for white supremacy–have condemned the slightly escalated nature of the Black protesters in Baltimore, citing that “Violence is not the answer.”, choosing to ignore the obvious fact that this country was built on countless cases of bloodshed, rioting, and looting. As of February of this year, the United States has been involved in war for over 222 out of 239 of its years of existence, or a whopping 93 percent.

As we continue to witness the race war unfolding in Baltimore, it was the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that holds true to this day:

“It is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots…..without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist in our society. These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention…… a riot is the language of the unheard.”

According to this news source, Carlson is also shown on a video clip, spewing his opinion. Here are the words of Carlson from the clip:

“Because that’s what this is, the end of civil order,” he asserted in regards to the situation in Baltimore. “This is not a civil rights act, it’s a threat to civilization itself.”

As is the case with suspected (and open) white supremacists, notice how the panel on this show stick to their Code of Conduct, with Carlson even going one step further by mentioning, “I’m not defending what the police may or may not have done to Freddie Gray, obviously. Of course, I’m merely saying that violence is scary, it tends to escalate,  it can get out of control, and you have to stop it immediately.”

Despite the ranting of Carlson and the rest of his Fox News affiliates seen or unseen on this particular show, they have ignored the fact that the entire situation was provoked, which initiated the unrest in the first place.

Racial tensions  are already high over the death of an innocent,unarmed Black man named Freddie Gray. Gray died April 19 after suffering a fatal spinal injury while in police custody. Authorities have not explained how or when Gray’s spine was injured. Police have said Gray should have received medical attention at the spot where he was arrested before he was put inside a police transport van handcuffed and without a seat belt, a violation of the department’s policy.

The protest Saturday over the death of Gray turned violent,and the mainstream media made a point to focus on the Black protestors who caused property damage. By they did failed to mention that the protestors were initially peaceful until they were antagonized by suspected white supremacists.

One person on Facebook who was allegedly part of the protests reported:

“We were peaceful. We walked thru 3 miles of Baltimore’s worst neighborhood and nothing jumped off. Black non protesters were using their cars to block traffic. No police were there when we were in the hood, and no violence happened. Once we got downtown and the police were on every corner, the whites were calling us niggers, calling the white protestors nigger lovers, trying to plow us with their cars, and in turn they got drug out their cars and their cars were damaged. My son and I were pushed by white men. As I was about to taze em, a group of black men came up and handled them. Yet we are labeled as the animals. Yes it did turn chaotic but only after outsiders instigated. ”
