The establishment–named Reggie’sis an after hours hangout for many of the university’s students, and has apparently served as such for the past 15 years. However, one young Black female student stepped forth and shed light on Reggie’s questionable practices regarding how it checks in its patrons. Taylor Ward is the Melanoid student previously mentioned who took to Twitter to express her frustration with her visit to Reggie’s, went on to describe the following:

This image is a screenshot of Ward’s Tweet, which was later deleted. As the picture depicts above, the stamp on her hand bears an eerie resemblance to the word “nigger”, even though letters are positioned upside down to illustrate the covert racist message the bar attempted to convey.

This isn’t the only clue that this place of business is owned and/or operated by suspected white supremacists. Last month, the LSU Reville ran a feature which went in-depth by questioning the suspect culture of the business. The story featured its discriminatory practices toward Melanoid people, to its tasteless choice of decorations in the form of a large confederate flag which hangs freely behind the counter of the bar.

The manager of Reggie’s, who as expected, has defended the venue’s use of the “Reggie/Nigger” stamps, has stated that the stamps have been used once a week for the past decade, and that there is no racial messages connected to the stamp. On another note, the term “Reggin”–the same word that is stamped on the Black hands of Taylor Ward and countless other Blacks who frequent the establishment–is derived with the intention of being the opposite of a “nigger/Black person”. It refers to white people who “act Black”, or choose to “slum” with Black people.

Racist Trolls Hijack #BlacksOnCampus Twitter Buzz https://www.melanoidnation.org/racist-trolls-hijack-blacksoncampus-twitter-buzz/ https://www.melanoidnation.org/racist-trolls-hijack-blacksoncampus-twitter-buzz/#comments Thu, 12 Nov 2015 10:26:16 +0000 http://melanoidnation.org/?p=2888 This week, the Black players on the University of Missouri’s football team took a stand because in retaliation to the ongoing disparaging treatment they have been receiving…because they’re Black. As this week comes to an end, the Black athletes and fellow Black students on campus are receiving death threats by white extremists…because they’re Black. Campus has been all but shut down, and the young students there are rightfully afraid for their lives.

In light of a heart-wrenching story on Raw Story about how terrified these young Melanoid students are about the possibility of them getting killed by white extremists on campus, many of the same racists have taken to Twitter, letting their presence-and racist intentions–be felt by all who cares to read. On Twitter, there has been a hashtag named #BlacksOnCampus, which has been trending heavy on the popular social media site. However, white supremacist trolls have begun to use the hashtag in their own way, resulting to name calling and an outright display of disrespect towards the brave Melanoid young men who have stood brave in the face of the adversity. Here are just a few of the Tweets left by the trolls:

https://twitter.com/JNasty720/status/664614905492828160

As you can see, white supremacists are in an uproar over the simple fact that the Black football athletes of the University of Missouri realized that their purpose in society meant much more than just scoring touchdowns and sacking quarterbacks. It’s no secret that for years, Black basketball and football athletes have been accepted–and even celebrated–under the condition that they remained seen and not heard. This means that they’ve been expected to be good athletes, marginal students, and racially transparent.

In conjunction with these laughable expectations placed upon Black athletes by members of the dominant society, it should be noted that in the competitive hierarchy of the NCAA, the Mizzou football team is part of the Southeastern Conference (SEC).

This collegiate sports conference has long been recognized as ground zero for its athletic programs which recruit young and impressionable Black males from the rural areas of places of the South such as Alabama and Mississippi, notoriously racist coaches (who are celebrated to this day) like Paul “Bear” Bryant & Adolph Rupp, and last but not least, the extensive network of the “good ol’ boys” who seek out young able-bodied Black “bucks” to lead their respective athletic programs to the promised land (which is a national championship).

In hindsight, after knowing all of this about the University of Missouri’s athletic conference affiliation and its home state’s recent history of racial calamity, it comes as no surprise that this campus was primed and ready for this past week’s series of events to occur in the first place.

Black College Football Players Go On Strike To Protest Racist Activities On Campus https://www.melanoidnation.org/black-college-football-players-go-on-strike-to-protest-racist-activities-on-campus/ https://www.melanoidnation.org/black-college-football-players-go-on-strike-to-protest-racist-activities-on-campus/#comments Sun, 08 Nov 2015 18:12:26 +0000 http://melanoidnation.org/?p=2873 Fifty-eight of the University of Missouri’s 84 football scholarships go to Black players…all of whom have decided to boycott playing because of their call for the removal of the school’s president, Tim Wolfe.

A statement has been released via Missouri’s Legion of Black Collegians group on Twitter, showing their stance on the matter.

The players are wanting Wolfe gone because of his alleged negligence in dealing with the slew of racist incidences occurring on campus, one of which involved Missouri Students Association president Payton Head–who is Black–called the n word by whites on campus. Many of the university’s students have used the hashtag #ConcernedStudent1950 to show their support for the ongoing movement.

5 Steps To Success For Melanoid Students (College Edition) https://www.melanoidnation.org/5-steps-to-success-for-melanoid-students-college-edition/ https://www.melanoidnation.org/5-steps-to-success-for-melanoid-students-college-edition/#comments Fri, 25 Sep 2015 18:16:18 +0000 http://melanoidnation.org/?p=2553

For many young Melanoid men and women around the United States this is the beginning of a new adventure for them. They will be attending college at a higher rate than any time in the history of the United States. While they are attending there are some things that they as students may not understand and will have to encounter them head on with no preparation. For many of our young men and women they are first generation college students and do not have the experience of having a relative or close friend to talk to about the upcoming challenges they are likely to face on college campuses. As Melanoid people we attend more predominantly white institutions than HBCUs (historically black universities) and with that an entire different set of circumstances must be dealt with for Melanoid students. The white supremacists know this and for this reason, Melanoid students will have a hard time navigating through the system of higher education. We here at Melanoid Nation have created a few things for Melanoid students to look for while they are on campus this fall:

1. Beware of causes that do not concern you but want your participation

Groups on college campuses want to recruit Melanoid people for their numbers, but do not want their influence or ideas. The feminist groups, LGBT groups and political groups such as the “young conservatives” are just a few groups that want Melanoid people in numbers but there are little to no resources in these groups for Melanoid people.

2. Steer clear of “Multiculturalism” and “Diversity”

On many predominantly white campuses across the country they have created these terms to show that they are not racist but multiculturalism and diversity simply means any “minority” will receive resources or affirmative action, it is not specific. Gay white men and women fall under “minority” status.

3. Beware of the “Campus Coon”

Yes they’re Melanoid people, but they’re on the “coon train”. They are actually more prevalent on college campuses than you think. Steer clear of them because they are also in black organizations such as fraternities, sororities and in faculty.

4. Seek out mentorship

Try to gain mentorship and networking skills from people who have your best interest. Being that you are a Melanoid student you will be pursued by organizations to represent them and their ideology. Make sure to ask any organization you join or think about joining what are the benefits of you joining and what resources do they have specifically for Melanoid people.

5. Avoid being exploited at ALL costs

Your universities may want you to take pictures to be on the campus brochures to help them promote “diversity” and “inclusion” yet you will notice that they are not practicing what they preach. Make sure that you decline all invitations to do so UNLESS they are in contractual agreement to do something for Melanoid students. They do this with other groups all the time so they’ll DEFINITELY do this to Melanoid people. The University of Wisconsin as caught photo shopping diversity into their brochures, so be careful of the white supremacist tactics when dealing with certain people on campus.

Black High School Graduate Shows That Hard Work Pays Off in a BIG Way https://www.melanoidnation.org/black-high-school-graduate-shows-that-hard-work-pays-off-in-a-big-way/ https://www.melanoidnation.org/black-high-school-graduate-shows-that-hard-work-pays-off-in-a-big-way/#comments Tue, 16 Jun 2015 07:39:13 +0000 http://melanoidnation.org/?p=1971 Who says that ALL students will have difficulty paying for college?

One person who begs to differ to this belief is Miss. Arianna Alexander, a young Melanoid high school senior from Kenwood Academy Chicago who got the best news that she–or many others–could ever receive in a lifetime. The student received 26 acceptance letters (which included six Ivy League schools), which exceeds an astronomical $3 million worth of scholarships. Arianna, who will attend the University of Pennsylvania, also graduated with a 5.1 GPA.

Check out this video clip below which highlights such an amazing achievement.
