Black High School Graduate Shows That Hard Work Pays Off in a BIG Way

Who says that ALL students will have difficulty paying for college?

One person who begs to differ to this belief is Miss. Arianna Alexander, a young Melanoid high school senior from Kenwood Academy Chicago who got the best news that she–or many others–could ever receive in a lifetime. The student received 26 acceptance letters (which included six Ivy League schools), which exceeds an astronomical $3 million worth of scholarships. Arianna, who will attend the University of Pennsylvania, also graduated with a 5.1 GPA.

Shaun C. Robinson Is ‘Making Power Moves’

As the old saying goes, “Knowledge is power.” To add to that, the actual application of knowledge is power, and one young Melanoid man is showing us that he is a living testament of this principle.

Shaun C. White College Staff Member Gives Black Student Unjust Treatment

Kennesaw State University student Kevin Bruce is a young Melanoid college student who sought assistance from his advisor just like countless other college students have done in the past. However, his encounter with the advisor’s office wasn’t as pleasant and seamless as he deserved it to be.

In a story featured on Complex’s web site, Mr. Bruce was patiently awaiting assistance from his advisor, when a white woman approached him saying that the police will be called on him for sitting in the lobby of the office waiting for assistance. Mr. Bruce took to Twitter and posted screenshots of his correspondence with the school:

If you watch the video in the story above, it will clearly show that Mr. Bruce calmly waited in the lobby, but was aggressively approached and threatened by the woman who called the police on him. This just goes to show yet again that many members in the dominant society are coming at us from every angle, even if it entails discouraging our youth’s academic progress.
