The meeting was held on the premise that Trump would be able to “reach out to an influential set of Republican primary voters”, according to CNN.com. Of course, the meeting itself should not come as a surprise as it is par for the course and indicative of the typical dog and pony shows put on by political candidates. The real disappointing factor is the presence of highly influential Black clergymen in the meeting that afternoon who, at this point, would likely be averse to “handling issues at home”, such as the long dirty laundry list of issues plaguing Black Society.

One of the Black pastors in attendance, by the name of Mark Burns, participated in the closing of the meeting which involved the religious leaders gathering around Trump, and extending their collective hands toward him in prayer. Burns’s wife, Tomarra, uploaded this video to her Facebook page. Dr. David Jeremiah, the white religious leader who led the closing prayer, prayed that God “bring into his life a strong African-American who can stand with him (Trump) and represent that community, so that his voice can be heard in an even stronger way there.”

Given Donald Trump’s long history of racism against Melanoid people, don’t expect David Jeremiah’s prayers to be answered…even if hell freezes over.

In what appears to be an attempt to curb such a heavy trend in NYC, police are now required to give a slip with a title that reads “What Is A Stop?” to the people they stop for questioning. As of Sept. 21st, NYPD cops will no longer be able to stop-and-frisk a person because they “look nervous or suspicious”. Stop-and-frisk is an ongoing problem that has even caused long-term trauma among Melanoid people who were targeted by this policy. Hatchett, who is a real estate expert, and the founder of Buy Black NYC, a website which serves as a directory for Black-owned businesses in the New York Metropolitan Area.

So far, his credentials have proven to be impressive, defying the stereotypical labels placed on Melanoid men. He now wants to see to it that other Brothers aren’t victims of their circumstances as well. In addition to the other irons he has cast into the business world fire, he has now launched ‘Black Men Doing It!’, a platform created to let young Melanoid males know that success isn’t defined by becoming athletes and entertainers alone.

The exact location where the transactions were made occurred on the corner of of Wall and Pearl Streets from 1711 to 1762, and played its part as sole industry in the United States which jump started its nearly 240 years of economic prosperity.

A 16-inch-by-24-inch metal sign is scheduled to be erected this upcoming June, which commemorates 150 years since the official ending of slavery in the U.S.  As we all know, however, Wall Street’s open acknowledgement of slavery alone will not erase the traumatic memories connected with the evils of slavery, and its lingering effects on Melanoid people in the U.S. to this day.

Andre C. Hatchett is a real estate expert and founder of  buyblacknyc.com. Hatchett, also known as “Brother Dre”, spearheaded the Black Business Challenge on social media that gives the call to action to encourage Blacks to patronize and promote Black owned businesses.
