John Weed, 59, of Mount Airy was at the Great Frederick Fair last Friday evening when he got into an altercation with a group of Black children. According to witnesses, Weed racially antagonized the children by spewing the n-word at them, then he spit on one of the children.
Fearing for their safety, one of the children defended himself from the imposing adult, and stood his ground by punching Weed, in order to neutralize the threat. Later that evening, Weed died from possible preconditions.
Two of the children, 15 and 16, were charged with assault. Many media outlets deliberately put out false stories and lies, claiming the children were playing “the knockout game” (an old anti-Black propaganda hoax created by the media years ago). But law enforcement even had to confess those stories were not true.
The children had reason to fear the suspected white supremacist John Weed. According to court records, Weed had a long criminal history, that included theft, burglary, drugs, etc.
A person who had such a long criminal history as John Weed, is clearly a menace to society, and according to the law, those children had a right to defend themselves from convicted career criminal of that magnitude.
Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins has tried to spark racial flames with this story, by claiming the Black children should be charged with hate crimes.
Sheriff Chuck Jenkins also has a history of racial profiling and he has a history of associating with known hate groups. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that he would support and promote anti-Black racism.

My daughter and I were pulling in to the fair after this all went down We didn’t know what was going on but because of all of the police presence, we knew something was wrong so we decided to go roller skating instead. And I’m glad that we did.
