Africa to Create Free Trade Area More Expansive Than the European Union

Africa has taken another step to empower itself by creating an economic base bigger than even the the European Union, or NAFTA.

The Tripartite Free Trade Area will bring 26 African nations together in the deal that will comprise of 600 million people. The deal covers much of the eastern and southern region of the continent. Below are a few video clips of this developing story.

The agreement, which is expected to be reached next month in Egypt, marks a monumental move for Africa’s economic policies, and how commerce on the continent is affected for years to come. In many ways, the mother continent is already at an advantage because of the enormous supply of natural resources that she possesses. It is a well-known fact that the entire globe has fought over control of the continent because of its resources, which is why there has been a several hundred year-old concerted effort to disenfranchise its natural born Melanoid citizens, and their descendants scattered across the globe.

Um no…Completely no. In case you haven’t realized it with this whole TTP/TTIP thing that is going on in the US right now, free trade is generally bad for everyone who isn’t a massive corporation. And since the most of the massive corporations in Africa are simply tax running figureheads for massive corporations from Europe, America, The Middle East and China it can be read by anyone who knows how these things work as an attempt to bring back the same type of euro thinking that colonized Africa in the first place. Not only that but it will most probably draw capital from out of the states those corporations are based in would leave (this means more jobs Blacks would need for experience sake would be lost to the US) and moved into Africa where people will most likely not be aware of things like ‘Wealth Inequality’, ‘Corporate Strangleholds’ and ‘How politics REALLY works’.

I personally would like to know who exactly was behind this Agreement, it wouldn’t surprise me to see the same (non-African corporate) names who were behind GATT (Slash Pay And Move Jobs To China) and NAFTA (Slash Pay And Move Jobs To Mexico). Melanoid Nation readers should not assume that all African economic activity that has a black face seemingly in front of it is going to genuinely beneficial to Africans as a whole. Free Trade has proved to repeatedly lead to races to the bottom in terms of workers pay and economic gluts for the countries involved.

I was scouring the net and couldn’t pinpoint the intent of this deal. Is it just for African nations? I never liked free trade deals either because, like you said, it seems to be more beneficial to corporations.

It seems to be just for African nations, but like i said, most multinational White, Arab and Asian companies already have strongholds in Africa and would probably benefit moreso from this deal. What is even more dangerous is that most of these companies are set up in Economic Free Zones (Locations designated by bribed officials to be tax havens/black holes). Where no one is obliged to investigate the flow of money. A deal like this potentially only serves to suck the dying capital of the Americas and Europe into Africa in return for fresh capital and resources from Africa (They will also sell manufactured goods back to Africans for higher prices.) and other races multinationals easier, more legitimate paths to establishing themselves there. Of course there will be figure head Africans who will benefit from these deals, much like the UK establishment is holding up its importers and exporters as examples of why they should stay in the EU, but in the long run, this is the path to Neocolonialism.

Agreed. We must research, review and reread material and also discuss amongst those educated and knowledgeable in these areas.

About time, now they need to get all the other African countries on-board excluding the Arabs in Egypt – Libya – Tunisia etc. . Eventually when they combine the immense wealth they will have enough military power to run out the Arab and European parasites..

No, Huntin_Jin is absolutely correct. Free Trade areas are absolute HELL on Africa and the Third World in general. Africa and the third world are kept in a state of EXTREME exploitation by Western Economic Imperialism. In there parts of the vid I did watch, the guy is not really lying as much as he is using glowing terms to sprinkle sugar on shit.

In short, what Free Trade areas generally do is payoff (more or less) a local class of sellout political leadership to eliminate protectionism (means to protect local business from powerful competitors, i.e. tariffs etc., and social safety net services to reduce hardship in society) whichis the bureaucratic red tape he spoke of.

Then corporations/bank go in and undercut all other business (that destroys them) and the public is exploited much harder cause they have to work for pennies and hour and can’t at least live of the land and subsistence farm because all the land gets bought up by the foreign companies.

Basically, FTA deal are garbage. Thats why it no way in hell West will Burundi or a third world company set up a free trade zone in America.
