LOUISVILLE, KY — In an age where Melanoid people are being deprived of receiving justice–oftentimes because of juries that don’t represent them demographically–one Black judge has taken matters into his own hands bucking this trend .
Last week, Judge Olu Stevens halted a drug trial and dismissed the entire jury due to the fact that there were no Black people on the panel. This hasn’t been the only time that this has happened. According to Louisville’s WDRB 41, Mr. Stevens dismissed a jury panel of a theft trail last November and had this to say about his decision:
There is not a single African-American on this jury and (the defendant) is an African-American man. I cannot in good conscience go forward with this jury.
Jefferson County–the county in Kentucky where Louisville is located–has maintained a notorious track record of Black people being misrepresented by juries who don’t look like them.
As expected, white supremacists are enraged, calling for the removal of Judge Stevens from his seat as the judge of the Jefferson Circuit Court. They have even put together a Facebook page, titled “Olu Stevens Needs to be Fired“. At this current time, the page already has nearly 1400 likes. A change.org petition has also been created for them to show their disapproval of the judge.

“a jury of your peers” the last time I heard…
I hate to say it though, some of our brothers and sisters who serve jury duty ain’t too bright, have a short attention span and lack attention to details, or don’t even care about serving justice. I personally served with melanoid people on a case and witnessed it. Some of them had their minds made up before the majority of the case was even presented to them.
I know of another case where a dude is serving like 15 years for murder but the prosecutor had no “murder weapon”, no fingerprints or DNA, but they did manage to drum up a crackhead as a witness (really, a crackhead as a reputable witness, where do they do that at???), a surveillance tape that showed nothing but a taxi and a few cars go by, and a couple of dirty cops who took the stand…Sadly to say, the jury was black and hispanic and the dude was found guilty. The dude may as well could of had a bunch of KKK jurors sitting in the box to render the same verdict…smh

We need to follow this guys example. Too many of us are scared to call out bullshit in the world because we want security in white America. It’s a joke. It’s only a matter of time before they find a reason to get rid of you. So if you’re gonna go out, go out calling out the bullshit and make sure EVERYONE knows about it so you can be an example for other people.
What the “change . or petion” also does NOT mention is that the White parents tried to get the maximum sentece -for their daughter “being scared of Black people”. Isn´t that racist?
What about all the School Shootings MOST of them are White dudes, Sandy Hook, The columbine shootin, TJ Lane, Chris Harper Mercer , and the list is endless…..
Why don´t we sue all those White shooters for the REAL TERROR they have instilled in the minds of the surviving kids, I know of even some White kids that were left traumatized by Adam Lanza and James Eagan Holmes -to even enter a Movie Theater.

I tip my hat to you sir. Your decision to dismiss the entire white jury with not a single African-American on the panel is against the law. The African-American defendant according to the U.S. Constitution is supposed to be tried by his peers. That all white jury was clearly devised to railroad the black defendant as whites have been doing for quite some time since this country’s inception. And here we are in 2015 with so-called African-American President, including a supposed post racial society and this sick behavior by most whites is still taking place.
Keep up the good work Sir and defend your self at all cost!

I have teal Respect for thid judge, however as usual white people are out to get him. Whenever we speak out about real unfairness in this country, we’re shut down. Look at the disrespect given to our president. White racist people don’t believe in the constitution when it involves people of color (specifically African-Americans). We must face the obvious facts, white people hate black people.
I admire Judge Stevens for taking a stance, for dismissing these ‘all white juries’, for standing behind the constitution, for putting his career on the line and more than his career, his life. These people are evil, racist and when they don’t get what they want, they’re willing to go after someone like this judge because he’s forgotten ‘his place’.
We as a people absolutely must support him at all cost; as a people we must support people who are willing to take a stance because this is what they believe in and even more, it is absolutely the ‘right thing to do’.
I could say more but I know there are those of you who know and understand exactly what I’m saying.
