Has The Media Downplayed the NAACP Office Bombing?

An investigation in underway for a suspect in the bombing of the NAACP office in Colorado Springs, Colorado. An explosive device detonated near the offices around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Fortunately, there were no injuries and minimal damages. Investigators do, however, believe that there was some foul play involved. The explosive’s proximity to the NAACP office has many residents worried about a possible hate crime.

It is certainly a possibility of being a hate crime or domestic terrorism, however we are exploring all possibilities of potential motive,” said Amy Sanders, spokeswoman for the FBI in Denver.

The NAACP shares their office building with barbershop Mr. G’s Hair Design Studios. The owner, Gene Southerland, strongly doubts that the device could have been targeted for his shop.

Some witnesses say that a balding White male, around age 40 was seen fleeing the scene of the explosion shortly after it took place. He is currently a person on interest for investigators.

In the midst of racial turmoil across the country, this latest incident has incited more concerns of hate groups and White Supremacist extremists. According to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), the number of radical militia groups increased from 150 to 1274 during the years of the Obama presidency. The organization’s spokesman Mark Potok states, “There have been more homegrown domestic terrorism attack by right-wing groups than the international terrorists during his presidency as well.”

The Denver NAACP offices have been closed all Wednesday.

The FBI has no new details at this time.

Of course. If this had happened to any other building in America it would be viewed as an act of terrorism. Think about it for a second. If a gay rights organization, feminist, mosque, church, jewish synagogue etc. was bombed there would be national outcry and it would be on all the major news networks. But since it happened to us they’re going to try to ignore it. The US has already shown the world that it hasn’t changed since slavery so they’re probably going to ignore any stories like this in the future in a vain attempt to preserve their image.

I agreed with JayBay, if it were any other groups building getting bombed the news coverage would be running in loops on most news networks. The bigger question is when will whitenjoy supremist be called and seen asome terrorist?

the white supremacist are trying to resort back to the same tactics they used during the civil rights movement blowing up black institutions!
