This past week, Tyrus Byrd was sworn in as the first Black female mayor of a small Missouri town. Parma, MO is already a very small city in terms of its population, and it appears as if a large portion of its city government representatives relinquished their seats in office.
A staggering 80 percent of city officials–including police officers & other city employees–resigned upon the swearing in of Ms. Byrd as the city’s new mayor. In a dominant society that promotes itself as being “post-racial” and the supposed leading country that supports the empowerment of women, it’s ironic that nearly all of the city’s power structure seems to be uncomfortable with the election of a Black female to the seat of the highest office in their city. In the same state that is still reeling from the ugly debacle surrounding Ferguson, this most recent incident delivers another devastating blow to the public’s recent perception of the “Show Me State”.

The cop fleeing would hilarious if it was not a life and death situation.
Perhaps if you would give boths sides of a story, a reader could take you serious. Your premise was Black Female Mayor, everyone quits. So a reader can only assume they all quite because she is black when in reality it could be anything. Perhaps she said she was going to cut their wages, reduce the force, fire all white Officers. This is why I stop reading the news media years ago, all pabulum-puking liberal lies.
Good. I’m actually glad this happened. Maybe this will be a nigga wake up call for all the people out there that still think that white people like us and wouldn’t throw us back into slavery tomorrow if they had the chance.
I love it! Hopefully she puts some people in positions who are fair and partial. this is a big time wake up call.
THIS IS A GOOD THING!!!!! Now the blacks need to fill in those seats! What on earth?! Am i wrong for thinking this?

Maybe the police officers were corrupt and fearful of being discovered so after the new mayor was sworn in they said time to cease and desist our activities. It was good while it lasted, but now its over.
