Baltimore state’s attorney Marilyn Mosby has proceeded with the decision to prosecute the six white officers who severed the spinal cord of Freddie Gray, which resulted in his death on April 19th, just one week after being taken into custody. One of the officers has been charged with second degree murder.
Mrs. Mosby’s decision to prosecute the officers marks an important step forward in ensuring justice for Freddie Gray, who was yet another victim of a white supremacist police force.

Oh Boy…
RIGHT ON SISTER.
Hopefully we’ll get justice for once.
Once again, black people have disappointed me. Why were we dancing and shouting on the streets of B-more because six cops are being “charged.” Black people, this is not a conviction! Why do we set ourselves up for the okie-doke? Refresh my memory black people, weren’t George Zimmerman, Darren Wilson and a handful of other murderers “charge” but not convicted but in fact rewarded by the dominant society with financial comfort for their racist and violent acts against black people?
I have been reading articles from various sites about this whole B-more situation and when I read the comment section of those sites it reminds me of how arrogantly out of touch the dominant society is. It’s like Jim Crow 2.0. It is so sad to see how the dominant society views property as more important than a (black) person’s life.
And at the same time the dominant society also displays its hypocritical mindset. They call the rioters/protesters/looters all kinds of names but fail to acknowledge how they riot and loot for far less. I believe main stream media is the main culprit and enabler of this type of double standard ideology.
This is why I am very grateful for media sites such as this one as well as the growing number of other sites that are actively combating the bias, inaccurate, and false information that is constantly being drilled into the minds of the masses around the globe.
History has taught us of the many riots and lootings they have participated in from places like Europe all the way to the Americas. The dominant society still to this day participates in the same kind of behavior the people of B-more are being accused of taking part of. The only difference is their reasoning for rioting and civil unrest has absolutely nothing to do with the socio-economic conditions of their environment.
Such hypocritical rhetoric is the kind I really don’t like and can’t rock with. I will be donating to Melanoid nation shortly.
White society doesn’t operate on basic principles of fairness or morality.
And we have been so beaten down that a mere charge is the highlight of our days. Like you said, dj, it is the convictions that matter most. We don’t want them getting off on nothing. If they get convicted people can start doing whatever… But, definitely keep the pressure on Mosby too. I don’t like some of the comments she made in her speech.
Fras, I hear what you saying but Mosby can only say but so much. As you probably know the Police Union is trying to get her to step down on the false basis of having a “conflict of interest.” So just imagine if she would have went in with pure facts about Baltimore Police Department’s over-policing and brutality of the residents of Baltimore. They would have a field day and would try to roast her.
Now to be honest I am really disappointed with our President and the Mayor of Baltimore. They was talking dirty and greasy about the residents of Baltimore. We need to hold them accountable for their statements because if it were Jews rioting and the President along with Mayor of Baltimore would have said those same statements I bet the ADL and the Jewish Community would be campaigning hard against the President and the Major of Baltimore. So hard that the next day Barack and Stephanie would have held a joint conference to apologize for their previous statements.
It is sad. Black people have to get their money game up so they can hold anyone, especially their own people accountable for working against the empowerment and overall best interest of the black collective. Again, we are all we’ve got.
