While much of Black America has recently come to terms with the fact that we should not go out of our way to place Black celebrities and public figures on a pedestal just because they are Black, here is a list of notable people in the Black community whose work has been proven to be an asset to our people.
Dr. Supreme Understanding Dass
As the founder and head of his publishing company, Supreme Design Publishing, Supreme has authored numerous books that have informed, inspired, and empowered Black people across the globe. Also spearheading the 360 Movement, Dr. Supreme and many others have initiated a concerted effort that aims to implement effective solutions that will remedy the plight of Urban America, which is often one of the most—if not the most–overlooked collection of Melanoid people in America.
Throughout our illustrious history, our scholars have lead the charge in providing much influence and leadership. Dr. Boyce Watkins ensures that this indelible legacy continues. Making his mark as a Professor at the Syracuse University, Dr. Watkins uses his voice as an educator and social commentator to address Black issues in a very unapologetic and profound manner. His website, yourblackworld.net, provides yet another platform for Dr. Watkins to be able to give commentary and dialogue that is pertinent to the Black community.
This Civil Rights lawyer and legal scholar has been one of the leading warriors in the fight against mass incarceration of Black men, and she consistently reveals the injustices of the U.S. Justice System. She is the author of the critically acclaimed book, titled The New Jim Crow, which sheds light on the disproportionate numbers of Black men being chewed up and spit out by the legal system here in the States.
Jason Black, aka “The Black Authority”
With one of the most profound insights on Black socioeconomic issues, Jason Black delivers a hard-hitting message aimed at the Black community that comes from a place of love in conjunction with preaching the message of personal accountability. From his YouTube videos, to his broadcasts from his website, theblackchannel.net, Black has shown that the only remedy for our community’s current condition is economic empowerment, which is the sole premise for his film, 7 A.M.: A DOCUMENTARY. Mr. Black has proven to be a true Authority on Black Economic Empowerment.

However, financial ruin, like many other problems that we face in this society, can be remedied. The financial expertise of Lynette Khalfani-Cox provides a cure for the ills of financial ruin. The woman who is often known as “The Money Coach” gives a wealth of information that is needed to help you get your financial house back in order.
In today’s climate of white supremacy’s elevated efforts to inundate the masses with their propaganda through media, the only alternative at this point is creating Black media outlets. Michael Imhotep is doing just that. As the founder and President of the African History Network, Mr. Imhotep has created a medium that allows some of the most thorough and celebrated Black scholars, business owners, and activists.
Grammy Award winning recording artist, music producer, philanthropist and actor David Banner is no newbie in the world of Hip-Hop. Banner, like his Hip-Hop predecessors KRS-One and Chuck D, have upheld the culture of the art form by representing it correctly.
The “Prince of Pan Afrikanism” is not showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon. In the midst of his international lecture tours that are contributing to his ever growing Black support base, Dr. Umar hopes to have his Frederick Douglass Marcus Garvey RBG International Leadership Academy off the ground as soon as possible. There is also a possibility that the FDMG Academy will be stationed and operated somewhere in Africa.
Fresh off of the success of his recently released documentary, titled Elementary Genocide, the owner and CEO of Rasha Media Group Inc is gearing up to create a follow-up film exposing the injustice that Black children suffer at the hands of the education system.
With the recent news of the first Nigerian vehicle manufacturer (Innoson) stepping on the world stage to compete with the Hondas, Toyotas, and other foreign vehicle manufacturers, one man, Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, serves as the Group Chairman and CEO of the auto manufacturer.

Delxino & Deborah Wilson de Briano
Nation-building begins with a strong family unit, and both Delxino Wilson de Briano and his wife Deborah adhere to this principle. Both starting out as professionals in the tech world, they overcame insurmountable odds to form TAG TEAM Marketing International, Inc, an organization that serves as a distribution and networking channel for Black owned businesses, services, and products. Their company, also known as the Black Business Network, has generated hundreds of millions of dollars by encouraging Black businesses to not only think Black, but also to buy and sell Black as well.
