Wisconsin Police Officer Shoots and Kills Black Teenager

Protests ensued as the result of yet another shooting death of a Black youth at the hands of law enforcement.

The incident, which took place in Madison, WI on the night of Friday, March 8th, caused a Black teen by the name of Tony Robinson to lose his life after being shot by a white officer whose name is Matt Kenny. The killing of Robinson makes the second shooting victim at the hands of Kenny, who also shot and killed a 48-year-old man in the summer of 2007. Officer Kenny shot Robinson after an alleged altercation between both he and Kenny.

According to Michael Johnson, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Dane County who identified Robinson’s body after the shooting, Robinson had aspirations of attending Milwaukee Area Technical College, and had planned to pursue a Business degree there. Robinson was unarmed during his encounter with officer Kenny, which coincided with Robinson’s death.
