A recent study conducted by sociologist David Pedulla of Princeton University shows that Gay Black men are more likely to be considered for employment–in addition to earning higher salaries–than their heterosexual counterparts.
This story was originally featured on financialjuneteenth.com, and it has been the cause of much conversation for the past couple of weeks. According to Pedulla, both he and his research team noticed that gay Black men had a better chance of commanding the same starting pay as straight white man. Straight Black men and gay white males often received lesser salaries.
The conclusion of Pedulla’s research shows that people outside of the dominant society felt less threatened by the presence of a gay Black man. This is yet another tool used to divide the African Diaspora, and it’s a demoralizing method being used to deny certain Black men the opportunity to earn a living for their families.

This article is definitely on point. I’m a straight male who works in the medical field with twice the education of my female counterparts. In my experience, they will hire a gay male because he is considered less intimidating & won’t question the motives of his higher ups when situations are unfair, unethical, or downright illegal.
I doubt they’re more favored probably just less intimidating….
I say yes. Just look at Hollywood. Chris Rock Even brought this up. Gay Men have female tendencies. Not to Rock the boat.
