WASHINGTON, D.C. — Despite the blatant mainstream media blackout of the historical event, hundreds of thousands–and perhaps millions–of Melanoid people descended upon the nation’s capital to commemorate the 20th anniversary of 1995’s Million Man March. Droves of hardworking everyday Black folks took the time and made the necessary sacrifices to make the trip to D.C., carpooling and meeting up for bus rides to make the trip. Scores of notable figures and celebrities in Black Society were also on hand–and were in many ways just regular faces in the crowd as they joined countless others in listening to the message of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. Black business owners set up shop as vendors…and the overall spirit of this weekend’s event was extremely high.

Of course we missed it. The national media almost completely blacked out the entire event. This is evidence that what happened on Saturday they don’t want to promote. Nigga shit? Yes. Millions taking to the streets to demand justice…not so much. But I read an article in the NY Daily News about a group of Blacks committing a crime, but read nothing about hundreds of thousands of Black standing in solidarity at the Nation’s capital. This is good. It scared them, it struck a nerve. I wish more could have been done on Saturday to scare the shit out of the establishment.
Thanks. I pre-loaded the video to watch later during my commute. We need to stop relying on the mainstream media which is funded and controlled by the dominate society! Televising our empowerment do not fit their agenda. The fact that we still are complaining means we still don’t understand white supremacy which means we are still sleep!
For people to be shocked that it wasn’t broadcasted means you are still asleep to white supremacy. This is a war, and in war you are constantly trying to disparage your opponents in order to gain public support, so why would they allow the world to see us in a peaceful, organised and focused form when they want the world to see us as gangsters, thieves and drug dealers aka disposable?. They will never give us the tools to dig ourselves out of the hell that they manufactured for us so stop asking and protesting for them to do so because at this point it’s just a waste of paper. The most damaging thing we have ever engaged in is the hands up don’t shoot movement, that nonsense made us appear soo weak to the dominant society it’s not even a joke. They don’t care that our hands are up, they prefer our hands to be up as it makes us easier targets to kill, no other race on this planet protests and basically asks their killers to stop killing them. We were face to face with our killers and kidnappers while protesting and instead of implementing an effective strategy we started pleading with them to stop killing us. No offence to the Melanated sisters but that is a very feminine way to engage your enemies, power only fears power and fear only fears greater fear and trust me they fear us.
They also might not have shown it because it is two hours long and not terribly rousing (too slow for most speeches)
the difference is the opinion on whether they should fear us.
is their fear advantageous to us? not as near as I can see.
is there fear damaging to us? what other reason would they have for hurting us- sheer violent nature?
I don’t dare make such an assumption, because that would mean the only true solution is genocide.
They feared us when they first saw us In Africa, they feared us on the boat over here and they’ve feared us ever since. But it’s the same fear you have for a tame tiger. Deep down you know any moment this Tiger could seek revenge and flip out killing everybody
If they did cover it in the news media’s mainstream, what would it really matter? You act like the government didn’t give Farrakhan the permit to be there like all the other non-black vendors that were there vending. This was a multicultural concert and now it’s over. FFS the NAACP was there and C-SPAN covered it.
